B.B. King's zei ooit eens in een interview "The Blues got a baby and they are called rock and roll" en daarom staan de Wieners in Tiel.
The Wieners is een super vintage rock'n'roll-trio. Als je deze jongens hoort, waan je je eind jaren '50 in een Amerikaans diner,waarin de
hoek een oude Wurlitzer jukebox staat te ronken. Je herkent de exacte sounds, solo's en zelfs de stemmen, compleet met meerstemmige backing zoals vocals: Buddy Holly (vooral hij!), Eddie Cochran, Johnny Cash, Johnny Burnette en vele anderen.
De afgelopen 3 jaar waren ze te zien op festivals, in theaters en in kroegen, maar liefst 250 optredens in Nederland, België, Duitsland en Frankrijk. Op hét festival voor fifties-muziek, Rock'n'Roll Street Terschelling, werden ze uitgeroepen tot 'Beste Band'. The Wieners hebbenzojuist hun 2e CD uitgebracht: 'Just Like Buddy' Holly' (zie www.buddyholly.nl). Het is een live-tribute voor hun held die in 1959, precies 50 jaar geleden, verongelukte. Maar... Buddy's music lives on, vooral als je naar de show van The Wieners komt kijken en luisteren!

The Wieners are a great vintage rock'n'roll-trio that really sounds like you're playing some old 45s on a Wurlitzer jukebox! You'll recognize theexact sounds, solos and vocals from the great fifties songs by Buddy Holly (especially him!), Eddie Cochran, Johnny Cash, Johnny Burnette and many more.
Over the past three years they've performed app 250 times in Holland, Belgium, Germany and France. Like the famous Terschelling weekender where they were voted 'Best Band'. The Wieners have just released their second CD 'Just Like Buddy Holly' check out www.buddyholly.nl. This is alive-tribute to their hero who passed away 50 years ago, in 1959. But... Buddy's music lives on, fur sure when you visit a show of The Wieners!
