Welke Nederlandse groep kan zeggen, dat die zowel op het grootste bluesfestival van België "Het Belgium Rhythm & Blues festival in Peer als op het North Sea jazz festival heeft gestaan?
Weinig, laat staan in hetzelfde weekend en met veel succes. 2008 was het succes jaar voor de band.
The Electrophonics opgericht in 2001, is een van Nederlands beste swing-jump- r&b bands in retro style, met een vette knipoog naar de jaren 50. Swing swing swing en nog eens swing, als een rollende swing trein dendert een optreden van The Electrophonics voort. Een vette Bluesharp in combinatie met de Phonics Horns zorgen samen met gitaar en piano voor een gedoseerde soloverdeling. De contrabas en swingdrums leggen de strakke basis.
In 2007 begon het succes. Op de tweede dag van het Moulin Bluesfestival open The Electrophonics het festival. Dat doen ze met zo'n geweldige set, die vastgelegd is op de cd Catch "That Swing Train", inclusief een geinige videoclip. Tijdens dat optreden krijgen zij de net wakkere festivalgangers aan het dansen en moeten bovendien twee keer terugkomen voor een toegift. Vooral zanger en mondharmonicaspeler Stephan Hermsen kan de boel goed opjutten. Niet alleen de band, maar ook het publiek. Geen moment staat hij stil en hij zweept zijn mede muzikanten op tot grote hoogte.

The Electrophonics, founded in 2001, originate from the south of the Netherlands. They play a perfect mix of jump blues and swing retro style. Above all, the Electrophonics are a band with style. Jump blues is still being played, but there is much space for crossroads.
The band succeeds in pleasing the audience and they are well appreciated in the (dutch) blues scene.The Electroponics are passionate musicians who want to play music, they really enjoy playing and their goal is to let enjoy their music and performances by as many people as possible.
Imagine: a prominent front man, supported by a powerful rhythm section of drums and bass; add the piano, the guitar and the horns section and you end up with an impressive band.
